- What is Solar Pump Systems?
We can call Solar Pump Systems the system that generates electrical energy from solar energy (Photovoltaic) panels to deliver water from tanks to residences for agricultural irrigation or residential uses and run pumps or water motors.
- Working principle of solar pump systems
In general, the working principle is to deliver water at the desired amount and flow rate to the determined point by converting the electrical energy produced from solar radiation and solar panels into mechanical energy in the motor shaft of the pump (motor). Solar pump systems use completely clean and renewable energy.
- Intelligent Pump Control
Intelligent pump control is another requirement in remote agricultural areas. The purpose of the smart pump control is to start/stop water pumping without going to the agricultural area in the remote area, as well as to protect the pump motor and the driver, to prevent water wastage by pumping more water than is needed, or to have water in the field as needed by the planted crop.
- How to Provide Intelligent Pump Control?
Intelligent pump control can be provided via the intelligent input/output terminals of the drive, the communication protocol (RS485-Modbus or RS232) it supports, as well as the Wake-ON (wake-up) and WakeOFF (sleep) in the drive.
As the most basic control, it is to set the DC bus voltage required for the driver to start and stop in the WakeON / WakeOFF section. Thus, before going to the agricultural area, irrigation will automatically start early in the morning and stop automatically in the evening.
As Intelligent Pump Control, it is possible to trigger the Driver Terminals with GSM Modems and stop and start them whenever we want, as well as with more advanced protocols such as Modbus RS485, we can observe the operating time of the driver, the operating frequency of the motor, and the amount of electrical energy we produce from the solar panels.
Intelligent Pump Control can also be provided with water level sensors connected to the intelligent input and output terminals on the driver. For example, when it goes below the minimum level in the well, it will stop the engine upon the information coming from the sensors, or when the amount of water in the tanks reaches the overflow level, it will automatically start the engine and prevent overflows.
